This policy explains what information Arnook collects, how we use it, how we keep it secure, and the controls you have over your data.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: email, username, profile photo. Content you create: photos, 3D scans, item descriptions. Location data: approximate location for marketplace features (with your permission). Transaction data: purchase history, payment information (processed by Stripe). Device information: device type, OS version, for app performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and improve the Arnook experience. To facilitate marketplace transactions and escrow payments. To show nearby listings and location-based features. To send transaction notifications and service updates. To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety issues.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with: Stripe (payment processing), Apple (Sign in with Apple authentication), other users (your public profile and listings). We may disclose information if required by law.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security. Photos and 3D models are stored in secure cloud storage. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card numbers. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit.
5. Your Privacy Controls
You can control your privacy in Settings > Privacy & Safety: toggle public location visibility, control who can message you, show or hide online status. You can block users to prevent them from seeing your listings or contacting you.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, listings, and personal data within 30 days. Some transaction records may be retained for legal and financial compliance.
7. Camera & Photo Access
Arnook uses your camera for 3D object capture and photos. We access your photo library only when you choose to upload images. AR features require camera access — you can revoke this in Settings at any time.
8. Location Data
Location is used to show nearby marketplace listings. You can use the app without location — it defaults to browsing all items. Location data is approximate (city-level) for public display.
9. Children's Privacy
Arnook is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app.
